First aid and pitchside medical cover for football matches
PitchMedic is a marketplace for arranging qualified pitchside professional attendance. If you need first aid for a football match, a pitchside medic or a physiotherapist, start with the duties and competition requirements. Enquire about supported roles through our invitation-only 18+ South West England beta.
What should I include when requesting football match cover?
Give the venue postcode, date, arrival and finish times, participant ages, competition level and number of pitches. For a tournament, include the full schedule and overlapping matches. State whether the professional will cover players, spectators or another defined group; do not assume one booking covers every activity at the ground.
Share the club’s event plan, required qualifications, equipment arrangements, meeting point and access for emergency services. Agree the responsibilities and booking status before matchday. PitchMedic confirms whether the role and fixture are supported before a booking proceeds.
Which football first aid qualifications might be relevant?
The FA lists Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF), Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF), Level 3 Emergency Medical First Aid in Football (EMFAiF), Level 4 Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) and Level 5 Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF). These are different awards; the required course depends on the role and current competition rules.
A course name alone does not establish professional registration, practical competence or suitability for your match. Check the exact award, assessment, expiry and any additional requirements with the governing body. PitchMedic does not provide these courses or represent The FA.
Can I book a paramedic for football?
Tell us if your event plan specifically requires a paramedic. A paramedic is a distinct registered profession; first aid training or a physiotherapy qualification does not make someone a paramedic. PitchMedic welcomes professional interest, but paramedic availability and booking access must be confirmed for the specific fixture.
PitchMedic is not an ambulance provider or an emergency service. A professional attending a match does not automatically include an ambulance, patient transport or a complete event medical team. Standalone first-aider bookings are not currently offered in the beta.
